The Myth of "Globalization"

I was on a forum today and was arguing the effect of "globalization" on the world, namely is it good or is it evil. A poll on the site caused me to realize the lack of knowledge and understanding many people have when considering the existence and effect of this "global strategy." The first and foremost being that it somehow exists. One of the poll answers was "NO it is evil we should all live in city-states." Well that is a gross misunderstanding of what "globalization" actually is.

Because in reality "globalization" goes by another name, and that name is Capitalism. There is a common and misleading belief that capitalism was not global until the latter 1970s, that is very incorrect. Capitalism has always been global it is in fact the worlds first and only global economic and social system.

Capitalism stripped to it barest form is the exploitation of cheap labor for profit. Without this integral exploitation, not paying the laborer the price of his labor, capitalism does not work, regardless of what elementary history books and economics books say about the myth of free trade and supply and demand. This primitive accumulation of wealth guides the global economic policy of exploitation. Where now not only is the laborer exploited but entire countries are placed under the heal of the Imperialist powers.

In fact "globalization" is merely what has come to be titled Late Neo-Liberal Capitalism.

It is merely a new way to exploit a country. If you can not whip them in the fields yourself then control the indigenous Bourgeoisie and let them run your agenda for you as they are employed by your companies that are producing products made at very cheap prices in their country. And with the WTO, a worldwide capitalist organization controlled by private companies, placing its boot across the necks of most of the third world this "globalization" my in fact be the most brutal and perfect form of capitalism to be employed so far.

It is important for this distinction to be made, there can be global communication without capitalist exploitation, liberals and conservatives alike hide this truth in their rants on how globalization is bringing the world closer, making it a smaller place, when it is merely raping the body's and cultures of third world countries. All under the bloodied flag of a program that exists in word only... "Globalization".

revoking globalization would not create a series of city states, it would however free many countries from white capitalist control. Making a statement to that effect shows the power of the conservative revisionists in this country who are able to change the meaning of words to fit their agendas (examples of this are the warped meanings of "third world" and "welfare reform" which resemble really nothing of their original meaning) A statement such as the city state comment from someone, even if they oppose "globalization," displays that they do not understand the true complextion of capitalist development post-1980.

The Truth behind Record Companies Acceptance of "Hip-Hop" Culture

While rereading Malcolm X's autobiography as of late, I have stumbled upon the last missing piece of what I believe to be another facet of Rich White control over African-Americans. The marketing and advertising of what is considered today to be hip-hop or rap culture.

While reading X's description of his time as a pimp, drug dealer, burglar, numbers runner and petty thief I realized what the white business controlled music industry has done.

I had always suspected, and preached whenever I could, the evils of the music industry's blacksploitation which began in the mid-90's. But now I am sure I have the why. X writes that he had become like an animal in a jungle while in the ghetto and making his living as many like him had, as a hustler. THIS is the IMAGE the WHITE POWER STRUCTURE wants to place on AFRICAN-AMERICAN YOUTH, corrupting them and turning them away from the pursuit of education and rising up to fight for EQUALITY. For once the slave sees that he is as smart as the master he can no longer stay a slave. Instead their poor life of struggle in the ghetto is glorified by songs and artists like 50 cent, Jay-Z and others.

Malcolm wrote that when he began reading in prison his life in the ghetto had reduced his 8th grade reading level to nearly illiteracy. It took knowledge to open his mind to the white exploitation of black Americans.

Another facet of this phenomena that Malcolm spoke about and I believe still exists today is the social hierarchy created by this hustler mentality, this constant animal like search for money to survive the day. How can a man that can not see to tomorrow ever hope to contemplate the control over his life. Automatically because of money and stature whites are placed at the top, with African-Americans picking up the scraps and hoping to be thrown some more.

The hip-hop artist today is a white man's professional hustler, made only to hustle the black man's body and mind to keep him in his place. It is the magnification of an occupation created out of necessity because of poverty to keep the remaining masses ignorant and poor, chasing money from day to day, combating each other instead of the real enemy

"1989 the number another summer (get down)
Sound of the funky drummer
Music hittin your heart cause I know you got sould
(brothers and sisters, hey)
Listen if youre missin yall
Swingin while Im singin
Givin whatcha gettin
Knowin what I know
While the black bands sweatin
And the rhythm rhymes rollin
Got to give us what we want
Gotta give us what we need
Our freedom of speech is freedom or death
We got to fight the powers that be
Lemme hear you say
Fight the power

As the rhythm designed to bounce
What counts is that the rhymes
Designed to fill your mind
Now that youve realized the prides arrived
We got to pump the stuff to make us tough
From the heartIts a start, a work of art
To revolutionize make a change nothins strange
People, people we are the same
No were not the same
Cause we dont know the game
What we need is awareness, we cant get careless
You say what is this? My beloved lets get down to business
Mental self defensive fitness
(yo) bum rush the show
You gotta go for what you know
Make everybody see, in order to fight the powers that be
Lemme hear you say...Fight the power

Elvis was a hero to most
But he never meant shit to me you see
Straight up racist that sucker was
Simple and plain
Mother fuck him and john wayne
Cause Im black and Im proud
Im ready and hyped plus Im amped
Most of my heroes dont appear on no stamps
Sample a look back you look and find
Nothing but rednecks for 400 years if you check
Dont worry be happy
Was a number one jam
Damn if I say it you can slap me right here
(get it) lets get this party started right
Right on, cmon
What we got to say
Power to the people no delay
To make everybody see
In order to fight the powers that be
(fight the power)"

This hip-hop culture, a blasphemy of its origins, must be seen as it is... merely another tool for the white man in order to control the black. It is the hustler culture Malcolm X was able to escape and one that all African Americans need to take back from the white music industry, and throw off one of the shackles the white man has laid across their wrists.

Racism in Jena, LA

Looking at the racial situation in Jena, LA I can not help but see shades of the Scottsboro boys...however unlike most white people I am not surprised at this utterly disgusting display of racism. It is the whites in this country that prefer to cover their eyes and pretend racism has disappeared, a fact I have been steadily arguing against for as long as I can remember. Whites know that this type of racism exists, they consciously turn a blind eye to the disgruntled minority they believed to somehow be content.

BUT HOW?!?!?!?

How can a people be content when they have been prevented from rising? Prevented from rising by the very people who tell them they have somehow reached equality... this elusive equality that the white protects with guns and poverty and, of course, the law. Yes! I see what civil rights has done it has allowed the government to prosecute the victim of a crime! It has allowed racist bigots to bring the victim of years of exploitation to trial in the name of justice.

As Malcolm X stated you can't fault the sick for being sick...you have to fight the sickness. And that sickness is the racism that still persists in the United States...and when I say UNITED STATES i mean the entire country not just the back water towns of the deep south. Which is why this story has recieved little to no publicity at all, America chooses to ignore because white America knows...race relations and inequality have only improved on paper. In writing only not in action or thought.

I guess we can all rest tonight knowing young Mychal Bell is going to jail, judged by a jury of his peers...O! WAIT! They aren't his peers are they!?!?! NO! He was convicted by a jury who just happened to be 100% white...

"An all-White jury convicted Mr. Bell of two felonies--aggravated battery and conspiracy to commit aggravated battery--and faces up to 22 years in prison when he is sentenced on July 31."

The coverage of this outrageous ruling and that of the events that proceeded it, as I have mentioned, have recieved little to no coverage from the media. In fact they have recieved about as much as another incident that occured this year that displays the strength and power of American racism...that of the Supreme Court ruling against Busing schools in an attempt at de-segregation, well of course they'll say that it isn't about de-segregation, but it seems "they" could not handle the small amount of desegreation that Busing provided!

What I am advocating is not a peaceful march and protest in Louisiana...What I want is something more! Something that would show the racist powers that be in this government that it is time to be afraid because a new day is dawning! And their vice grip of hate is finally going to be released either by their own volition or they will indeed be forced! This is not a time for passive protest! A march is needed not just on Jena, or Selma, or Atlanta but everywhere! The United States has exploited it citizens for too long!

This is not an incident for only Louisiana to worry about, or the south it is greater then that! Much greater and much more important! Let the martyred souls of Malcolm X and Martin Luthor King rise from the ashes! Let the discourse of WEB Dubois and Marcus Garvey come to life and build a new legacy of African American Pride! Now is the time for action! Nothing will solve this horrible problem, this epidemic, but staunch and unrelenting doscourse and action against the racism that hovers over this country everyday.

"'Conservatism' in America's politics means 'let's keep the niggers in their place.' And 'Liberalism' means 'let's keep the knee-grows in their place- but tell them we'll treat them alittle better; let's fool them more, with more promises. With these choices, I felt that the American Black man only needed to choose which one to be eaten by, the 'liberal' fox or the 'conservative' wolf- because both of them would eat him."
